work work work.
as usual

went to town after work with toh hsien yew
wanted to eat weird-weird-boss-but-very-nice Japanese food
but not open

went to ding tai feng instead
goon doo toh hsien yew ordered yam dumplings instead of xiao long bao
and i had to give it away to the staff there cause we cant cancel the order and we both dislike it to the max. (its super disgusting can)
and when our xiao long bao arrives, 1 broke
and they compensated us another

sales everywhere, but nothing caught my eye.

super tired;
slept on MRT
slept at toh hsien yew house.

going to sleep now.

my 21st birthday

was spent with my dearies

surprises they have for me.

i saw them when the moment when the train arrived at novena la. they were trying very hard to hide behind the pillar. haha!

some super big and heavy box, a super big card, and a broccoli bouquet that yaptang for many years, said wanted to get for me. haha!

coincidentally, i was in a white dress, and carrying the broccoli bouquet, it looked like im gao ying (getting married) can.

my 2nd time there, but the food doesn't seems as nice as i thought it would be

i didn't expect my 21st birthday to be this, right after my grandma funeral.
for this, i wont be celebrating my birthday.

i guess this would be the simplest birthday that I'll have
but I'll always remember it.

i seriously think that funeral procedures is to preoccupy people who has just lost their love ones.
so that they have no time to be sad.

5 days of funeral has finally ended.
from PR-ing with people.
gambling
chanting and rituals
i seriously think that all this is to keep them occupied
because we got so busy everyday, reaching home only at wee hours and had to go out early in the morning.

the cremation procedures had simplified so much that it doesn't really hold any meaning anymore

but when the coffin had to be cremated, we still cried for some reasons or another.

goodbye, grandma.
u will always be on my mind.
i will always remember that u took care of me when I'm young, and me taking care of u when u slowly grew older.

i realised that i forgotten to bring my keys
so me and toh hsien yew had to play see-saw at the playground downstairs while waiting for my mum to come home.

then we started playing hop-scotch

im super lousy at it la.
we both ended up super sweaty when my mum arrived.

1st day of funeral

its spent doing things like setting up the place
putting ah ma into the coffin etc

seriously, the sadness fills me when i saw them cleaning her face, combing her hair
it reminds me of Sunday, when i just combed her hair for her.

other than that, the whole day was spent PR-ing with people, folding joss paper.
i fold like bags of it

going down later again.

i believe so.
the feeling in me now is still weird
probably because i couldn't accept it as yet

I'm glad i made my way down to visit you for the last time
i felt so sad when i saw her, so pale, so weak

life is such fragile
i felt sad even for patients' death
let alone to say my own grandmother
even though i once hated her for the things that she has done
but now, its all over

now i hope she has already gone for a better place.

Saturday 13 June

We went pitstop to celebrate Janice's belated birthday today.

birthday girl!

yes, my hair has turned to this thing, all thanks to the chapter2 hairstylist.

i really detest my hair now.

feels like some curtain in front of my forehead. damn warm can!

everybody can see that I'm not used to my bangs at all, cause i kept combing it to the sides

we walked here and there, finally settled at Mr curry by waraku for some desserts

the shop looked damn cute but they didn't allow us to sit in the cute area

and all the desserts in the menu looked damn nice damn appetising

but it turned out to be like this when it came.

ALL MELTED LOR!

and all 3 taste the same because its all made of the vanilla ice-cream

mights well go McDonald buy!

and we ordered 3 of this, came 2. and they charge us the price for 3

PM shift

was a ma de ji dan gao day

as expected, with my bangs, everyone was astonished and keep telling me that I'm very cute with my new hairstyle

and i meant everyone!

colleagues, doctors, sisters, patient, relatives, PT/OT, nurse clinicians.

goodness

its damn irritating to work with that hair, cause its so itchy

i transferred the trachy with mrsa pt out finally.

but got admission and transfer in

pt wife who is a SN being unreasonable

some pt relative behaving like ah siao, shouting at the counter because we said his mum is a lodger in b1, and he wants to tell everyone about it.

so many things la.

11June

sleeping day

slept till 3+, woke up unwillingly

went to chapter 2 with tang

and ma de ji dan gao.

a haircut turned out to become bangs.

and I'm damn sway to get the hairstylist that i don't want.

so what done cannot be undone.

i can only suck thumb and hope my hair grows faster

but now I'm combing it back to the side. haha

went to meet janice, ilfan and lingyan for dinner @ new york new york.

not nice not nice.

went IT show after that

walked around

spotted toh hsien yew sitting on the floor uglyly

we went TCC for some coffee (not for me of cos)

don't know whats the problem of that waitress who keep coming to disturb us.

she came 2,3 times to get our order when we are still looking through, taking away our menu

night shift

i kept my finger cross hoping that it wont be busy for my every night

every time instead of being free, i will be super busy

but this time, i really had 2 very good nights.

even though both nights, i had to see irresponsible people, who is worse that tree

but at least its meimei and Janice on the other side.

doing team2 night is better, cause i only had to walk 3 cubicles. haha

night shift

everything went well until i admitted the hypoglycemic case
the "as usual" hourly hypocount
when i called the oncall he actually told me he was there 5min ago and asked me how come nobody told him abt the new case
hello, how i know le. i wasn't at the counter wad.

but the pt actually went hypo till he turned restless
and the on-call is so weird, ordering drip that don't exist etc
wants to check bloods cm but don't want to key in
saw a high alert sticker on D50 and ask me wads that for.
give D50% den hypocount increases later went hypo again
and give D50% again den hypo again

at the same time when i was handling this hypo hypo issue
23 has left face jerking
24 has right face jerking
29 has headache
AN off the wrong catheter for wrong pt.zz

and i had to rush through giving the morning ivs
rush through all the 6am, premeal meds
all the hourlys.

and finally able to go back home
saw yaptang at mrt station and got to know she's on night too
yes! company for breakfast tml!

aiya, i hate 2nd night, cause i cant sleep past 3pm
and i had to force myself to sleep when i cant.

VERY TIRED AH!

after the morning shift i was called back on Thursday
i worked morning shift on Friday

went ichiban with toh hsien yew after i had my afternoon nap
and both of us slept like some pig at night, erm maybe me only. haha

went for the 1st nursing spine seminar on Saturday morning
it was interesting and useful, i should say
but i think im too tired that i had to keep forcing myself to open my eyes. LOL
afternoon shift after that, it was a 8am to 10pm day. gosh!
and went to team3 after so long.

morning shift on Sunday.
was ok lar. but i did so much spongings till I'm so tired. LOL
went chinatown after work to look at the $10 KTV, almost fainted when i walk up the place, and turned back immediately.
lol

morning shift again on Monday

was ok lar.just that sooo many dressings and spongings. lol

the super confused aunty @ bed 5 is damn cute can
she uses the armsling to put all her bread and the body restrainer that she tore, like some plastic bag
and yes, she tore the restrainer. hahaha!

i was offered a 8-5 job, as a research nurse
but i declined it.

even though i don't have to stay in ward and being irritated everyday
don't have to work my ass off, suffering from NBM, NPU everyday
but i think, i would still prefer being a staff nurse in a ward. rather that doing research.
that's not where my passion lies, and not the reason why i stay in nursing.

the interviewer asked me a very good question that made me ponder
"why do i like to be in a neuro ward"
i didn't know how answer them then
but i guess that's where the satisfaction lies

but still, i feel flattered to be given this chance.
together with my good friend, janice ong. hahaha!

we went mos burger after work.
to gossip. haha

and finally our nicole is back @ work. hahaha

doing my mask and hair treatment now.
my hair is like grass, anyone wanna go cut hair with me? hahaha!

Wednesday, off day2

the lemon TEA, milk TEA, bubble TEA kept my eyes wide open till 6am in the morning.
and it's damn irritating cause theres no tv programmes to watch, no internet to use.

slept till 1pm when the starhub ppl came and knock on my door to repair the modem

watch LXHY Korea version till 5pm after i am able to log on to the Internet
and met my mum at bishan to walk walk

saw cotton on sales, and i spent $70 there, not for myself but for my dear toh hsien yew
bought him berms and polo tees.

and toh hsien yew came and look for us again.
we went amk hub

i finally found the super cute cheer me up tshirt tat Janice has, hahahaa!
and this toh hsien yew bought a ah-pek radio at some zhap-ba-lang shop
and he went NTUC to buy tidbits again. -.-

was called back to work morning tomorrow.
going to sleep soon

met yaptang for pizza hut
we had 12 drumlets.
yaptang my makan partner. lol!

and we went to sembawang shopping centre because she wanna eat luncheon meat
lol

we went to this hk cafe.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
should have been to xing wang instead, though their service sucks, but at least their food is ok.
