i felt like slamming the case sheet when i read another "she" report
because i don't understand wad the hell she writes

worse still i couldn't write my report properly until 4am
so much of interruptions.

i think tonight might be worse.

let me recall

had supper with 10a girls after afternoon shift on Thursday
at chomp chomp
with our fav stingray, hokkien mee, chicken wings etc etc.
so much that we are soooo full after that

we sat down in the hawker centre that is already closed, watching the the cleaner washing the stalls till 3am while we do the usual gossips.

afternoon on Friday
A9 on Saturday. pay back 1 hr extra for working nights. lame.
lol.

i met my piggie toh after work
and we went bugis for steamboat

its the first time both of us are eating steamboat together
just us.

and we were trying ways and means to scam and make the expired $50 forever21 vouchers valid.
LOL

went to his house after that
ate some tau huey and pizza
slept like some pig
while bk and ben went to his house

and later on we headed back to my house to sleep

what to expect 5 empty beds for me.
eIMR starting and we dun know where to refer and sign for the medications because some were all in eIMR some still not transcribed

doctors who promise to come but NEVER come.

VAC dressing blocked and neither the vendor nor the wound nurse wants to come
the wife doesnt trust nurses doing it. and we dont do it in the first place.
called the vendor but they kept giving me invalid numbers to call

transferred in a DIL active

sister serving medications with us.
u can imagine that right?
and some stupid new case coming when im in the midst of serving medication.

and some more there is this fucker from duno wad ambulance calling me to ask if this pt is for discharge tomorrow.
i said not sure (because KIV only), then he started asking me about walking aids.
so i reconfirmed with him again where is he calling from. and he told me ambulance
then he started shouting at me because he is asking me what walking aids the pt needs.
and of cos i need to reconfirm with him where is he from and how come ambulance wants to know what type of walking aid the pt needs.
so i asked him "what got ambulance got to do with walking aids"
then he got irritated and scolding and shouting over the other end of the phone that he is an ambulance company who has sells alot of services including walking aids.
wad the fuck, say la. never say properly then ask me of cos i will query him wad.

and i told him to revert back to the family since the family was the one who called him to purchase the walking frame
guess wad that fucker say?
" i thought i want to call the nurses because they are more professional, how would i know that this is the answer that im getting"
how the hell would i know what type of walking aid the PT ask the family to buy and this stupid monkey just call me and happily shout at me.

and he shouted" can u now tell me wad kind of walking aid the pt needs "
wah lau, i got damn pissed (i proudly admit,) i slammed the phone and got the case sheet (with my clerk beside me, looking at me in astonishment, wondering where this stupid caller is calling from)

and i got back the phone and told him its walking frame the pt required
he shouted again "dont u dare slam the phone at me understand"
LOL

and i couldn't be bothered with him, i asked him whether is there anything that he wanted to know
and he shouted again "don't u dare slam the phone at me again u understand? and he asked for my name."
and he later on said that he will tell the nursing officer tomorrow about what he had experienced
i told him "u could go ahead if u wish"
and he said " i had to repeat myself 3X before i got the information i want"
and i replied "hello! of cos i have to get it clear where are u calling from before i reveal any information of the pt wad. do u know this is pt confidentiality?"
he shouted "save ur lecture and go care for your patients because i dont need to talk to you anymore because u are not professional enough, and also u should not slam phone, do u understand. i dont know u slam phone is because u are not mature enough or wad."
i said "whatever la"

and i hung up that damn phone and complained to my clerk
and realised that this fucker is well known for his attitude
and i told sister tan about him. and she told me to ignore him because she knows his pattern too.
LOL

what the hell lor this monkey
crazy ass.

i think its true know,
certain race is damn rude and demanding
not being racist here.
but over the years, this particular race (esp females) that I've encountered is super irritating and demanding
of coz there are some nice ones
but majority of them that I've encountered is super irritating that u feel like strangling them

enough of that irritating monkey
and eIMR goes on, wrong timing here and there stat doses here and there
and then some transferred in cases that medication not discontinued poses a problem too.

i see my janice ong damn stressed just like me
hahaha

i tried to finish up whatever i can
and so that she don't have to pick up my rubbish
i seriously hoped that plug can last till cm.

finally the night shift that i dread has ended

saturday was damn free because my dear janice helped me to top up!

it never ended from the moment i started

2 pint of bloods, 1 platelets, 2 fast drip, 5 bottles of IVIG, rocephine, flagyl, nexium, maxalon etc.

AM on wed

was not that busy
just that sending DIL active to scans is rather troublesome

AM on thu
busy with doing rubbish things that team 2 ppl leave for me

and the most irritating thing is that i have alot of discharges again.
and the pt who vomited and desat at 2pm when sister brought every staff into the utility room
and i couldnt find any staff to help me suction the pt or even help me get oxygen for her
i quickly suck the pt and finally her sp02 goes to 100% and when i want to call the doctor i was called to attend another pt who is confused +++ and insisted to go to toilet when she is damn restless and the daughter insisting and insisting

when i finally settled that i went out of the cubicle and saw code blue for my pt who vomited
and she vomitted again
luckily before that i asked my clerk to call the doc already
we suction the pt again and put on 100% for her
and luckily dr rajni was there
the pt was fine later on.

and after i handed over i saw the pt who seemed like fitting
but the doctor insisted that she's not!

finally done with my 3 AM

went home and slept and met tang and jane for zicra

morning shift today

was rather ok in the morning.
only after i discover more and more discharges which amounts to 4
zzz

doing CGT for CIC
changing dressing for this pt who is going home
and just after i change the dressing that moneycome came and did the STO on the head and left the wound exposed.
shit, should have done it later. waste like 15min of my precious time. hahaha!

i was still doing fine until 1pm
where i had to discharge this pt

where moneycome didn't complete the ICS form properly for day rehab
and worst still he used a blur form which seemed to be photocopied 10x.
and i had to go over everything in my pen and filling up the form as well because he just filled up the name and address plus some diagnosis; and that's it.
that ics person called and i had to do it la~!

and that relative again, coming and immediately asking for team to update like some king.
so i called the NL doc who is at some journal club
the relative seemed bu shuang, but i seriously had no time to bother about him lar.
and people warming up the milk and put on the cardiac table, he said we left the milk there and never feed

and then that stupid PACU
told them to send the pt at 2pm don't understand english
still send at 1.30pm where the bed is not cleaned and we are serving medication.
some more never call before they send.!!!!!

and that PACU HCA still quarrel with me for their fault
malign us say that our side say can send.
backside. who tell u so. we told u to call before u send la.

and later PACU started calling, saying that the pt just came out from OT and want to send to the particular discharge bed; which is simply ridiculous because the pt was already there at our bed wad! some more i verified the name with them and it is the pt that i had in the ward and they insisted that the pt is just out from op.
and i started buay tahan-ing this PACU and started scolding them
and they kept calling and calling for wanting to send another SDA case where the pt is still on the bed.
what the hell right?

and people started asking for wheelchairs and i had to go 10b to get them. 2 in total.zzz

and BMU started calling to book occupied beds.
i think they dont have a SAP la.

and the one which irritate me most is moneycome again
he came and shouted at us when we were passing central
asking why we didn't off catheter for that particular pt of mine. when he had ordered.
i thought i heard him say the plug and i said that the pt is still on cefazolin, last dose on 8pm wad.cause its for 24hr, and it was given last night 7pm.
and then he walked off.
i then realised he was talking about catheter when Vincent told me so.
luckily he walked off, if not i would have scolded him
because it WAS NOT ordered at all since yesterday
not on IMR
not even on cont sheet because he didn't write any input at all
fuck, i should had listen clearly and bark back at him.
ma de. think Vincent with him can anyhow anyhow scold nurses for his own fault.
so wad if the HOD scold your, it still your fault WAD
even the reg was not scolding anyone, why should he.

all these happened between 1-2pm
and i felt so helpless cause everyone is doing their own things and no one bothers to help me
i had to take para and do the new SDA case myself, do the ICS thingy, discharge, deal with BMU and PACU who keep calling and calling.

and finally me, Janice and lingyan finishes work at 3.30pm
we went for mos burger.
hahaha!

and i went home and slept like a pig on the sofa.
i wanted to sit for awhile before i bathe.
but i fell asleep unknowingly.
hahahaha!

Happy 1 year anniversary to us

for joining nursing.

7th April

1 year ago. we joined ttsh after we graduated from NYP
we learn and grow
from a student to staff nurses



the journey gets disheartening and discouraging at times
and we felt unappreciated at times
but end of the day, it gets all worth it; just at the mention of the word: staff nurse

i think the most difficult time of this 1 year is the period when i had to learn driving and work at the same time.
driving on off days, before night shifts.
enduring scolding and withholding tears
and i could remember work was like shit during that time.
scolding, scoldings even those that is not of my business
but I'm glad that during those worst times, i had my pang pang with me.
and I'm so glad that i don't have to go through that ever again, and i wont want to.

some of us left the profession earlier
some may do so later
but we are still part of nursing.
"the caring profession"

no matter how much of bao ga liao we do.
how much rubbish and scoldings we had to endure
we still can proudly say "im a nurse"

so dearies met up for a dinner to celebrate this very special day for us
1 year of slogging our guts. hahaha

I'm slowly recovering from fever

first night
was a very okay night
few hourly and 2 hourlys
but 1 2h hypocount and a 4h one

and as usual, only 2-3 pts are not on hypocount.

some gossip with hu meow meow in between
night sister pissing me off

and breakfast with piggie toh

only managed to sleep till about 4pm
super tired

2 night seriously; busy
first is this pt, who went passing motion and went unconscious for some time after that.
made me kind of panic when the AN shouted for me

calling security for some bf gf thingy
loads of changes after reg review the new case.

never ending walking up and down the ward
because there is too much hourlys to do

and later one admission came around 2
for 4 pint of platelets
but i kind of got lucky because the pt refused blood transfusion
on hourly as well. one more to the list

and later on 2 admission came at the same time
all 3 were GM cases

and at this time i became super duper busy
another one desat
did neb. suction increase o2
cant get the doctor who is happily sleeping
i think im seriously sway
every time I'm on night sure got desat, and its always happening to those stable pt.

then i went doing my admission
being translator for doctor

all 3 admission for cxr, urine etc
got busy around doing random things.
taking this and that pt to toilet etc for i dunno how many times cause no one at the counter.

never ending IVs

and finally near 7, the desat pt desaturated again.
zzzz

and, I'm gradually losing my voice as i fly around
imagine passing 19 beds with my cannot make it voice

actually some colleagues really cannot be bothered with you and they are obviously oblivious to how busy u really were
and some worse
come to work in the morning and show a face as though people owe them 10 thousand
hello? get it clear that if u don't want to be thrown to another team which is busier; obviously, just voice it out. no one is forcing u wad.

seriously, i totally cant be bothered and continued passing with my minimal voice left
u think im so easily affected?

2 days of morning.

Thursday was very busy
many discharges
and i went gaga looking for dressings for one of my pt.
and his wound is humongous can!
2 wound on the calf with 30cmX10cmX5cm depth
and 3 wound on the meta-tarsal 15cmX5cmX3cm
zzzz

that infection control nurse is so irritating
don't know what she is talking about also
and i think she is confused by herself.

and as usual admission at medication time
ERCP discharge with SDA
do LP
transfer to AMKCH
confused ++ pt.

ajisen with meimei
and went home to sleep like nobody's business

and Friday morning
was slightly better than Thursday one
maybe because all those multi-disciplines made rounds later than 8, no one snatches our imr and clinical chart, asking for translator etc.

did many spongings
inserted an NGT
did a dressing

pt going hypo hypo
irritating NL doctor quarrelling with me asking me to put up a drip that doesn't even exist
and refused to listen to me, hung up my phone
and of cos, i irritated her by calling her again because the hypocount is still low
and she said "what? u mean u haven't put up the drip from just now?"
and i already told her there is no such drip.
simply don't understand English
and her attitude sucks.

and a pt getting angry for no reason after we gave her ducolax
scolding everyone she sees, complaining to her son.
and i had to call his son to explain.
lol!

admitted a pt who is very weird.
seemed abit confused and psy.
lol

at the end of the day,
i felt body aching and feverish

went home and slept till 2am.
i actually didn't eat for the whole day.
i think i was drowsy when piggied called
didn't know wad did i said

but sleeping helps
now im feeling much better
after taking paracetamol.

i must get well before night shift tomorrow.
